Practice materials to improve your writing

bullet1 Comma splice

Your feedback says:

SENTENCE ERROR: COMMA SPLICE - you have incorrectly joined two main (or independent) clauses with a comma. You need to make two separate sentences, or use a different connective or marker to join the clauses.

So what’s the problem? And what do you need to do?

While combining main clauses by comma is quite common in some languages, it is considered bad style in English, so make sure you identify independent clauses and use other punctuation or markers to connect them.
