Dear Norbert,

During our meeting yesterday, I knew that I should check the web page before coming to the course. However, in spite of checking it, I do not think I can learn what I expect from it. For example, I think the group will be divided into smaller groups with similar problems in "Project Work," then, a tutor will help people in this group to correct or give suggestions to them. But it does not go as what {1} I thought. I could not feel any improvement of my English ability during last week.

Anyway, I am very glad that we could make some changes in the afternoon class from on now. Since we asked for more materials and classes, we, the people in the afternoon class, are ready for the pressure of homeworks {2} when there is.

Thank you for your understanding. We appreciate You {3}, Sue and Jeff to make {4} the changes for us.

Dear Pei Ling,

Thanks again for your log and suggestions. I am sorry to say we cannot make any further changes to how the time dedicated to "project work" is run. For the money you have paid, you could expect about 18 hours of classroom work and projects in the afternoon. Considering student numbers we are not able to give you more classroom time or even smaller groups in the afternoon.

The web-based materials and my corrections are actually an extra service students can benefit from. Students as yourself are encouraged to use it, and come to me if there are questions. If logs come in late, or no questions are asked, there's not much I can do to help. There are many materials I have made available for you on the web-site. Please do use them if you want to practice the language of socialising, telephoning, or grammar issues such as idioms with prepositions and other stuff. Your practice is logged and I can see who has done whatever work on the web.

I hope you can accept the way we are trying to give all our students what they came for.

Best wishes

Norbert
